CEO of Color Blocking

Faces Worth Meeting · November 21, 2025

Tell me you run the room without telling me you run the room.

She just tilts her chin and lets the geometry speak.

This portrait feels like Picasso went shopping with Tamara de Lempicka, then borrowed Mondrian’s ruler. Sharp black lines, sliced orange panels, and that calm white face. No background clutter. Just attitude, sliced into rectangles.

Look at how everything is built from verticals and diagonals. That’s classic composition control: the straight lines pull your eye up the figure, then back down the lapel, like an elevator for your gaze. Nothing random. Even the big hoop earring is a perfect circle interrupting all those straight edges, so your eye stops there for a second before moving on.

The orange is doing overtime, too. It’s the color of confidence and visibility; safety vests and luxury logos both love it. Here it turns the blazer into a high-voltage power suit. She doesn’t need a background scene. She is the scene.

Dinner-table fun fact: Yves Saint Laurent once designed an entire dress collection inspired by Mondrian’s color-block paintings. Fashion has been stealing from the gallery wall for a long time.

Good art deserves good company.
