How Did Dada Inspire Modern Digital Art?

Dada emerged during World War I as a revolt against logic, order and cultural seriousness. Artists such as Hannah Höch and Marcel Duchamp used collage, found objects, absurdity and appropriation to challenge the idea that art had to behave properly.

Those strategies feel remarkably current. Digital artists remix existing imagery, break visual continuity, corrupt files, collide unrelated sources and use humor to disrupt meaning. The tools are different, but the instinct is familiar.

The important connection is not a single Dada look. It is permission: permission to cut, borrow, rearrange, mock, question and let surprise become part of the creative process.
