Sleigh Mode: Off
Black ink scribbles like a storm cloud. A slumped Santa melted into his own sled. Three tiny red witnesses: two bottles and a brave little wine glass.
It’s the day after Christmas. The reindeer are on PTO. The suit is wrinkled. The beard is doing that thing where it becomes a blanket and a life choice.
And honestly? Respect.
Santa hauled joy across the planet. He earned the nap.
We’ve been riffing on Santa for weeks, too. Different moods, different masks, different myths. Now the big guy clocks out… and so do we. Back to our regular art cadence tomorrow. The North Pole cinematic universe can rest.
This scratchy, jittery linework feels like Ralph Steadman got hired to illustrate holiday exhaustion, with a little Expressionist angst baked in. All emotion, no manners.
Mini art lesson: negative space is a power move.
Notice how the background stays mostly empty, like the room is holding its breath. That emptiness makes the chaos of the ink feel louder. And the tiny hits of red? They’re visual punctuation. Your eye snaps to them, then boomerangs back to the collapsed legend on the sled.
Fun fact you can drop at dinner: the “day after Christmas” is Boxing Day in a bunch of countries, and it started as a tradition of giving workers and people in need boxes of gifts or leftovers. Basically: even history agrees. December 26 is for distributing goods… and distributing yourself onto the nearest couch.
